Privacy Policy

Overview

Trackember ("we," "us," "our") is an AI-powered website change monitoring service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses our website and service.

By creating an account or using Trackember, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

What We Collect

Account data. When you sign up, we collect your email address. Your password is hashed by our authentication provider and we never see or store it in plain text.

Monitor configuration. When you create a monitor, we store the URL you want to track, the plain-English description you provide, your chosen check frequency, and any structured fields you define.

Scraped content. We fetch publicly accessible web pages on your behalf. We store snapshots of the page content (converted to text), diffs between snapshots, and AI-generated summaries of what changed. We only access pages that are publicly available without a login.

Usage data. We log how many checks each monitor runs, credit usage, timestamps, and estimated costs. This helps us operate the service and show you usage breakdowns in your dashboard.

Cookies. We use authentication cookies to keep you logged in. These are functional cookies required for the service to work. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the monitoring service you signed up for
  • To send you email alerts when changes are detected
  • To show you usage and cost information in your dashboard
  • To maintain and improve the reliability of our service
  • To communicate with you about your account (e.g., billing, policy updates)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your monitoring results with other users.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party providers to operate Trackember. Each provider only receives the minimum data needed to perform its function:

  • Cloud database provider for storing your account, monitors, and results. Also handles authentication.
  • Web scraping infrastructure for fetching the public web pages you ask us to monitor. These providers receive the URLs you submit.
  • AI model provider for analyzing page changes and generating summaries. Page diffs are sent to this provider for processing.
  • Email delivery service for sending change alerts to your email address.
  • Hosting provider for serving the application.

We do not disclose the specific vendors we use to protect the integrity of our service. All providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Data Retention

Scrape history (snapshots, diffs, and summaries) is retained according to your plan: 3 days on the free trial, 14 days on Starter, and 60 days on Growth. Older data is automatically deleted.

Your account data (email, monitor configurations) is kept as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove all your data within 30 days.

Data Security

Your data is protected with row-level security, meaning your monitors and results are only visible to you. All communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

No system is 100% secure. We take reasonable precautions but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix inaccurate data.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
  • Data portability. Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out. Unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@trackember.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance: we process your data to provide the service you signed up for. For account-related communications, our legal basis is legitimate interest.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully.

CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

Children

Trackember is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
